I did a little research on the colors of black and white and what they mean together. I never use just black and white in a piece because the starkness is too austere for my taste. However I did find it very interesting that using a gradient of greys instead of black and white makes it much more dynamic. It is more representative of what war and peace is like.
 
You can ask a million different people what peace is and you will get a million different answers. Very rarely in this world is something just black and white. It's taken me 40 years to learn such a thing. There are shades of grey in all things and my charge to you is this: 
 
Can you see something that isn't in your particular shade of grey?
